Nuniwarmiut School student Kassiyurtet traveled to Chevak on Thursday, February 23, 2006 to partake in a cultural heritage week. Although the students stayed only a couple days, they thoroughly enjoyed the trip. They danced for two nights and were warmly welcomed by the residents of Chevak.

Chevak has had a dance group for a lot longer than Nunivak but as part of our cultural exchange they will send an immersion teacher representative to Mekoryuk in the near future to learn about our Native language immersion programs.
